Dr. Hermann Gottlieb’s (Burn Gorman) Navy Jet Toy from Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 mega monster movie Pacific Rim. In the film, a race of monsters, called ‘Kaiju,’ terrorizes earth, forcing mankind to build a team of massive robots, called ‘Jaegers,’ to battle the monsters and save the world. These items were glimpsed in Gottlieb’s flashbacks when he “drifted”, a temporary joining of minds, with Dr. Geiszler (Charlie Day) and a Kaiju.

Many of the drift sequence props are created in a monotone black, white, and grey scheme meant to add to the effects lighting used in filming the complicated sequences. The plane is a plastic toy with a grey and white camouflage motif and marking labels along the top side. The piece is seen when young Gottlieb is playing on the floor with his toys. The toy remains largely intact but for a missing fin on the back right of the plane. Regardless, the piece remains in good condition. This piece measures 24” x 15” x 5” (61 cm x 38 cm x 13cm).
