An SFX octopus puppet from John Glen's Bond film Octopussy. Smuggler Octopussy (Maud Adams) owned a blue-ringed octopus which doubled as the symbol of her organisation. During a fight between Octopussy, Bond (Roger Moore) and Kamal Khan's (Louis Jourdan) men, one of Khan's thugs was thrown into the aquarium, where the octopus latched onto his face.

The puppet is made of rubber and is hand-painted to resemble the real animal's intricate patterning as closely as possible. The puppet's paintwork remains in a fragile condition and has flaked off in some areas. Dimensions: 55 cm x 50 cm x 8 cm (21 3/4" x 19 3/4" x 3 1/4")

From the personal collection of Peter Nelson, previously displayed at his two museums, "The Cars of the Stars" and "The Bond Museum" in Keswick, Cumbria, until they closed in 2011.
