A Helium-3 canister used in Duncan Jones’ debut sci-fi film Moon. Serving a three-year shift on the moon harvesting Helium-3 for the Earth, Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) soon makes a terrible discovery – that his life is not all that it seems to be, and that other versions of him are present on the lunar surface.
This canister and others like it were used to store harvested Helium-3 for dispatch back to Earth on the Lunar Industries shuttles. Made of wood with additional plastic and fibreglass detailing, the piece features a carry handle at the top with the ubiquitous orange and black colour scheme of the Sarang equipment used on the moon. The name “Sarang” is stencilled on the side. Displaying some minor signs of wear from use, the canister remains in very good condition.
