An extra-large format "Marilyn Monroe in Repose" portrait by photographer Bruno Bernard, aka Bernard of Hollywood. Bernard is credited with popularising pin-up photography, and first photographed Monroe in 1947, when she was still named Norma Jeane.

The framed image shows Monroe relaxing in the 20th Century Fox screening room while wearing her dress and heels from The Seven Year Itch. This dress featured prominently in arguably Monroe's most iconic image: standing over a subway grate with her white dress billowing up around her legs.

The photograph is numbered "5/50" and signed in the lower margin by the estate of Bernard, from which this lot originated. Dimensions (frame): 102 cm x 122 cm x 3 cm (40" x 48" x 1.25")
