Penny Robinson's (Lacey Chabert) light-up "Pennyvision" video diary wrist device from Stephen Hopkins' Lost in Space. Penny used her futuristic cuff to keep a video diary of her family's mission aboard the Jupiter II, including when she fawned over the ship's handsome pilot, Major Don West (Matt LeBlanc).
Penny's recording of the journey under the file name "Pennyvision" was intended to reflect her teenage sense of isolation and self-obsession. For her performance as the rebellious Robinson daughter - her first role in a feature film - Chabert received a nomination for a prestigious Young Artist Award®.
This foam-padded cast resin wrist device originates from Planet Hollywood. It is labeled "O-Vid," affixed with metal grating, and inset around its surface with multicolor LEDs designed to illuminate via wiring concealed on the interior. Following production, the device underwent sympathetic restoration to return functionality to the LEDs, including the addition of a 9V-powered battery pack. The device shows evidence of wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age.
