Major Don West's (Matt LeBlanc) screen-matched bubble fighter suit costume with stunt boots from Stephen Hopkins' Lost in Space. Major West wore his bubble fighter suit when he, John Robinson (William Hurt), Judy Robinson (Heather Graham), and Dr. Zachary Smith (Gary Oldman) explored the abandoned spaceship Proteus. Distinctive points of distress intentionally applied by production to the jacket of this costume screen-match to when Major West came upon the ship's arboretum.
This costume consists of a black leather jacket marked "MAT" with foam padding and decorated with black rubber tubing, metal coils, and acrylic lights featuring a gold-color metal eagle pin and marked "D.WEST" on the front, and a blue and yellow acrylic A.S.O.M.A.C. patch on the right arm; a black cotton distressed shirt; a pair of matching black leather pants decorated with black rubber tubing, metal coils, and acrylic lights; a pair of black leather and nylon gloves (size L) featuring a black acrylic panel on the top and metal screw details; and a pair of black leather and rubber-soled boots marked "ANDY - STUNT" for stunt performer Andy Smart. In addition to the jacket, the other costume components are intentionally distressed throughout to appear well-worn with grime applied, scuffing on the boots, and tears throughout the tubing and nylon. The lights on the jacket are currently nonfunctional.
