Judy Robinson's (Heather Graham) cryosuit from Stephen Hopkins’ Lost in Space. The Robinson family and their pilot, Major Don West (Matt LeBlanc), were wearing their cryosuits aboard the Jupiter II when their mission to Alpha Prime was sabotaged and they all found themselves lost in space.
Multiple versions of the suits were created for each character, with lifecasts taken from each actor in order for molds to be produced for each suit. Costume designer Vin Burnham carefully created the cryosuits to feature no form of fastening, which meant the actors had to be sealed into them for each day of filming with medical glue.
This lot originates from Planet Hollywood. The underlayer of the cryosuit consists of a black neoprene undersuit with foam latex panels secured to the exterior that have been finished in varying shades of gray. Panel line detailing is present to add to the dynamic appearance of the suit. A resin badge reading "Jupiter Mission" decorates the right breast. Matching vacuum-formed components are adhered to the left side of the chest, shoulders, waist, wrists and upper thighs, where connections would be made during cryosleep.
Any lighting effects that might have been present during production have since been rendered nonfunctional due to the removal of the necessary wiring and power components, and the entire suit has been permanently mounted to mannequin for display without the possibility of being safely removed. The lot shows evidence of intentional production distressing together with wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age, including tears in the foam latex, flaking to the finish, and the mannequin's left hand is missing. Dimensions: 28" x 18" x 65.5" (71.25 cm x 45.75 cm x 166.5)
