A costume with light-up vest worn in the sci-fi action movie Lost In Space. When a terrorist plot leaves the Jupiter II space ship lost in deep space, the stranded Robinson family and pilot Don West (Matt LeBlanc) must band together to find their way off of an alien world.
This costume was worn by Dr Zachary Smith (Gary Oldman), the traitorous stowaway in the employ of a terrorist sect that sabotaged the Jupiter II, as he and the Robinsons step out to explore the alien planet they have crashed on.

The costume is composed of a futuristic jacket with ratchet fastenings, a matching pair of trousers, a light-up tactical vest and a pair of boots. The vest was originally a scuba diving vest, customized by the prop department to look like futuristic exploration equipment. A large pipe on the back is connected to a rubber pack made to look like a fan. On either side are prop air tanks. Coming from these tanks is a series of clear tubes running across the vest’s surface. These pipes light neon blue when a switch is flicked on a set of (newly made) power packs. Lights are mounted on both shoulders. Both the jacket and boots feature reflective strips to improve visibility when in use.

Well used during filming, the rubber detailing on the pack has deteriorated slightly, however the costume otherwise remains in a very good production-used condition.

Please note: The power packs require 9V and AAA batteries for use. Due to recent UK legislation regarding the shipment of batteries through mail and couriers, batteries are not included.
