A tape featuring stereo mixes of five songs from the Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut album are You Experienced. The record was released in May 1967 and is often regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made. This lot comes from the collection of Patricia "Trixie" Sullivan, personal assistant to Mike Jeffery between 1966 and 1973.
The tape is a 'safety' copy of side A of Are You Experienced, and likely a first or second generation copy. The songs on the tape are "Foxy Lady", "Manic Depression", "Red House", "Love or Confusion", and "I Don't Live Today". The tape comes with its original box, which has an LPC Sound Recording Studios label affixed to the front, underneath which "Track Records Jimi Hendrix LP Side One" is handwritten, while "F235" is handwritten on the back. The box contains the original outer shell of the tape, which has since been transferred to a new shell and box, for preservation. The original box and shell are Magnetonband branded, and the replacements are Neckarklangwerke branded. The original box exhibits extensive wear, though the tape itself remains in excellent condition. Dimensions: 28 cm x 28 cm x 3 cm (11"x 11" x 1.25")
