A Thuggee guard scimitar style sword and scabbard from the Harrison Ford classic: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The sword and the scabbard are made from fibreglass and resin, which have both been painted to replicate weathered metal. The pommel of the sword features intricate detailing with a leopard-style head and patterned cross-guard. The scabbard still displays an added brown leather chord wrapped around five times and held in place with glue.
All these years later this amazing piece shows only minor set-wear, in the form of some small parts of the scabbard near the handle of the sword losing small fragments of its fibreglass and the leopard style head on the sword having lost the tips of its ears from use during the production. However for such an iconic piece it has survived remarkably well, with the sword measuring 84cm x 9cm (33” x 3.5”) and sheathed 90cm (35.4”).
