A pair of prototype Sankara stones from Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) fought to return the five sacred Sankara Stones to Mayapore before they fell into Mola Ram's (Amrish Puri) clutches. Production used two styles of stones: a semi-translucent version that could be illuminated and solid stones for stunt sequences and long shots. Production produced a large number of prototypes to achieve the specific desired look for the stones.

These two prototype stones are cast from resin, painted brown to resemble stone, and intentionally distressed by production with scratches and carvings to give them a faceted appearance. One stone has a production-made grove around the lower portion and features a hand-marked "X" in black ink. Both stones feature hand-marked labels "No. 777," likely from a previous auction circa 1990s. They exhibit pitting from the molding process and cracks, as well as discoloration around the groove. Dimensions: (each) 5.5" x 3" x 3" (14 cm x 7.75 cm x 7.75 cm)
