An ID card and police detective badge used in the production of Alex Proyas’ sci-fi thriller I, Robot. Police Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith) is a cop in Chicago assigned the investigation of Dr Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), who falls from a balcony under dubious circumstances. His investigation leads to the implication of the robot Sonny (Alan Tudyk), not realising the plot behind is death is far more deadly to the human race.
Detective Spooner used his badge throughout the film, most notably when he arrives at the US Robotics headquarters to investigate Dr. Lanning’s death, with this version a non-light up backup version of Spooner’s police credentials. The badge is made of machined metal with his badge number 4084D and a department crest applique at the centre. Spooner’s ID card features his departmental details and faux-circuitry detailing. The set is secured in a thick leather wallet.

Displaying only minor wear from its time in use on the production, the badge remains in excellent condition.
