A storyboard print binder and monster designs from Ron Howard’s science fiction comedy Howard the Duck. Phil Tippett is credited as Stop-motion Supervisor for the film.

The green binder features printed storyboard sets for multiple action sequence from the film including boards labeled as Smog Station, Lab Battle, and Monster Duck. This binder contains approximately 60 printed storyboards. In addition to storyboards, approximately 60 pages of production notes, schedules, and reports are stored inside this binder. These pages feature notes from Phil Tippett, both handwritten and printed, made throughout the production of the film.

A set of action printed scene sequence storyboards is also included. One set of storyboards are held together with brass fasteners while another are stored in a folder. Each set includes approximately 30 pages. Each page contains printed images for a sequence from the film. These sets also include both handwritten and photoprinted notes and memos from production. A folder of element breakdowns is also included in this lot. Each page of element breakdowns contains a printed storyboard image as well as a description of what is needed for each page’s respective shot. Approximately 60 pages are included in this folder. Two sheets of color proofs for Howard the Duck’s appearance are included in this lot. Each page contains multiple photographs showing the design for Howard the Duck. One page is labeled ‘Proof A’ and the other is labeled ‘Proof B’ by hand. Finally, a set of Howard and monster designs are included in this lot. This set of hand-drawn plans shows designs for both Howard the Duck and monsters. These drawings feature information such as scale, animatronics designs, and other details regarding the creatures seen in the film.
