The Kurgan's (Clancy Brown) costume display from Russell Mulcahy's fantasy adventure Highlander. The immortal barbarian known only as The Kurgan wore his armour while in battle with a group of Scottish warriors including Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) in 1536.
The costume consists of body armour, shoulder guards, a right leg greave, a leather belt, a black faux-fur sporran and completed with a replica helmet, Each armour piece has been cast in fibreglass and resin and styled to resemble animal bones. The replica helmet is made from the original production mould and features a brown and black faux fur plume styled to match the sporran with a buckled leather chinstrap. Formed as a bony muscled torso, the body armour fastens with six brown leather straps and features a high cowl inlaid with black faux fur. The shoulder guards both feature leather straps and chain mail. Made to match the armour, the leg greave fastens with three leather straps. The leather belt is inlaid with plastic plates styled to look like metal, while the sporran features long, black faux-fur tails. It is in good overall condition with signs of wear deliberately added by production as well as some cracking and missing pieces on the shoulder guards and helmet and signs of aging on the faux fur. The costume is mounted on a custom mannequin display with a light-up base featuring the Highlander logo and artificial rock detail. Dimensions (displayed): 73.75 cm x 44.5 cm x 185.5 cm (29" x 17" x 73")
