A Nimbus 2000 made for a promotional poster photoshoot for Chris Columbus' fantasy film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. In an early stage of the film's marketing campaign, an art director was commissioned to create mock-up compositions for possible film posters. The art director then engaged a prop maker, who created a custom SFX broom flight rig for the photoshoot, and a Harry Potter body double in full Hogwarts-style costume was hired to "fly" on it. The images from the photoshoot were then used to create between seven and 10 compositions for the posters, but ultimately, none were used in the final international marketing campaign. This Nimbus 2000 was used specifically for the composition mock-ups, and was not part of the final poster.

Built around a thick metal pipe that protrudes from the bottom, this broom features a brown wooden handle engraved "Nimbus 2000" in gold-color lettering; a layered foam seat with a resin core and a metal eyelet; brass-color metal foot rests; and black and copper-color wire wraps with clear fishing line wraps around the bristles. The seat's underside is signed by the builder. The lot is in good overall condition with some torn and stained foam, and light scuffing throughout from use and age.
