An uncorrected proof copy of J.K. Rowling's novel Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is the third instalment in the iconic saga of Harry's adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in which he investigated the mystery of sinister prison escapee Sirius Black.

Only the first three Harry Potter books had proof copies printed. Based on differing reports from publisher Bloomsbury and Rowling's bibliographer Philip W. Errington, this green-covered second-state copy is one of between 150 and 250 printed. These were the final proof versions, created before trade copies were produced to send to critics. The book's front cover exhibits curling at the bottom right corner and a minor tear in the top edge. The lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and additional information from Harry Potter specialist Adam Houston. Dimensions: 20 cm x 13 cm x 2.5 cm (7.75" x 5" x 1")
