Four ape underskulls and a mechanical baby gorilla head from Hugh Hudson’s drama Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. These pieces were created for use by various actors when portraying apes. This lot features four resin skull pieces. Each skull is tagged with production notes naming the performer who wore them.
The mechanical baby gorilla head is made from resin and is covered in foam latex and hand-punched hair. This head still has its electronic components that controlled eye and mouth movement. A set of resin teeth are present on the lower and upper jaws. The foam latex has become very brittle with age.
The skulls show wear from production use and some still have dried foam latex present, but are in overall fair condition while the baby gorilla head is offered in fragile condition. Dimensions (each skull, varies slightly): 9" x 7" x 6" (23 cm x 18 cm x 15 cm); 7" x 5" x 6" (18 cm x 13 cm
