A display of the Mogwai known as George from Joe Dante's horror-comedy sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch. After water accidently spilled on Gizmo in the Clamp Enterprises office, he spawned a number of new Mogwai, including George.
Mogwai puppets were created by multiple Academy Award-winning special-effects artist Rick Baker's Cinovation Studios, and used for the film's early scenes when the character needed to be viewed in full. This puppet has been professionally reassembled using Baker's original production-made parts.
The puppet's hands, mouth and ears are made of foam latex, while its mechanical body is covered with brown, white and black faux fur. It has acrylic eyes, and its foam latex skin is painted in a high level of detail, including fingernails and toenails. The body has a metal armature, which is connected to two cables for controlling the puppet's arms.
The lot is presented on a custom-made light-up display stand powered by eight 1.5V AA batteries. It is made of wood with plastic cladding. The squeeze trigger cable for the puppet's left arm has snapped and is currently inoperable. The hands exhibit hardening and cracking, revealing the mechanical fingers underneath. The mouth also exhibits cracking. Dimensions (displayed): 17.5 cm x 34.5 cm x 46.5 cm (7" x 13.5" x 18.25")
