Grand Budapest Hotel, The

Ludwig's (Harvey Keitel) Prison Costume

Stock #128862

“What do you mean, "who drew this"? I did.” “Very good; you've got a wonderful line, Ludwig! This shows great artistic promise.”

Ludwig’s (Harvey Keitel) prison costume from Wes Anderson’s 2014 comedy crime film The Grand Budapest Hotel. A writer encounters the owner of an aging high-class hotel, who tells him of his early years serving as a lobby boy in the hotel's glorious years under an exceptional concierge.

Though the full costume is not obviously seen on screen, the bare-chested Ludwig wore his costume in the prison. The costume consists of a striped shirt with wooden buttons, a costumier’s label and a handwritten label reading “Ludvig Harvey Keitel” and a pair of striped trousers with a handwritten label reading “Axel Hasler”. The costume has been distressed for the production with dirt and dust and it remains in an otherwise very good condition.
