A printed storyboard binder with hand-drawn and printed Sardo concept sketches by Randy Dutra from Michael Ritchie’s comedy adventure film The Golden Child. Phil Tippett is credited as the demon supervisor: ILM on this title. The demon Sardo hid his true form in the shape of a man while pursuing the prophesized ‘Golden Child.’

The lot includes a binder filled with storyboard pages and seven rolled pages of concept sketches. The red binder contains numerous printed storyboard pages separated into twelve sequences by dividers labeled ‘Child Bird,’ ‘Tibet Painting,’ ‘Jewels Glow,’ ‘Asttro Porject [sic],’ ‘Knife Throw,’ ‘Sardo Transforms,’ ‘Sardo Glows,’ ‘Kala Snake,’ ‘Butterfly,’ ‘Sewer Battle,’ ‘Car Crush,’ and ‘Final Demon.’ Each section has pages with panels and scene notes printed on each. A note printed on Lucasfilm stationery regarding storyboard edits is also included separately. On the inside cover of the binder is a transfer image of an ewok, likely from use in previous productions. The seven concepts are both printed and hand-drawn and show various angles of the demon Sardo and include various notes about the creature’s construction.

The pages show wear with creases, slight tears, and page discoloration due to age, but the lot remains in good condition. Dimensions (binder): 11 ½” x 11 ½” x 3” (29 cm x 29 cm x 8 cm)
