A Roman infantry sword and scabbard from Ridley Scott's Oscar®-winning historical epic Gladiator. Roman legionaries wielded their swords as they fought the barbarians in the forests of Germania during the film's opening battle, under the command of General Maximus (Russell Crowe).

The weapon comprises a metal blade, a notched wooden grip, a wooden guard and a spherical wooden pommel. Also made of wood, the scabbard is covered in red canvas fabric and features metal band detailing around the top. The sword exhibits minor wear from use on production, including signs of tarnishing on the blade, a minor chip on the guard and discolouration to the sheath. Dimensions: 79 cm x 9 cm x 6.5 cm (31" x 3 1/2" x 2 3/4")
