A set of production-used Polaroids from the classic sci-fi adventure film Ghostbusters. This set of Polaroids, mounted on backing board, were used by the visual effects team for planning a variety of sequences, including the shots of the skyscraper, the fire house, the arrival of the Stay Puft marshmallow man and Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) being chased down by the Terror Dog Vinz Clortho.
Acquired from the collection of the esteemed visual effects co-ordinator Richard Edlund, the set is composed of six boards covered in carefully arranged Polaroid photographs and a panoramic photograph of the New York skyline. Each of the board is numbered with shots showing a variety of angles to illustrate how specific shots throughout the film would be composed. Various shots have been annotated with black marker to show how shots will track or with illustrations to show how visual effects would manipulate the buildings for shots. Board 3 includes a map of Manhattan marking specific locations where locations were situated. The wide photograph showed the city location where some of the ghosts begin to arrive in the city from the sky.

A fascinating insight into the production of the film’s visual effects, this fantastic set remains in very good condition.
