Costume designs for William "Bill the Butcher" Cutting and Amsterdam Vallon hand-painted by Sandy Powell for the production of Martin Scorsese's historical crime drama Gangs of New York. Powell was nominated for an Academy Award® for her costume designs.

These designs for Bill (Daniel Day-Lewis) and Vallon's (Leonardo DiCaprio) ornate signature gangleader costumes are rendered in mixed media on illustration paper, labeled "Bill" and "Amsterdam" respectively, and signed "Sandy Powell Gangs of New York 2001" on the reverse. Both exhibit minor stray markings. Dimensions (each): 8.25" x 11.75" (21 cm x 29.5 cm)
