Destro's (Christopher Eccleston) Hero Flamethrower from Stephen Sommers 2009 blockbuster, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. In the film, a secret military team known as G.I. Joe pursues the dangerous, terrorist organization Cobra in an effort to keep the world safe from evil. When facing down Duke (Channing Tatum), Destro uses a flamethrower with devastating consequences, injuring himself and leading to his signature, metal-faced visage.
The flamethrower is made out of mostly metal pieces, as it was used practically in the film and needed to withstand high temperatures. A plastic grip and trigger guard are attached to the handle, though no trigger is present on the piece. The overall design evokes the high-tech, futuristic aesthetic seen in all of the Cobra weaponry throughout the film. The piece features a copper pipe that runs from the barrel to the bottom of the handle piece, where it would have connected to a gas hose. Two silver metal tanks are attached to either side of the barrel, though their use is not known. The piece's functionality is currently untested.
This particular piece screen matches to the flamethrower seen in close-up and grabbed by Destro to use against Duke. The flamethrower remains in great, production made condition.
The violent crime reduction bill means that this particular prop can only be sold to customers who reside outside the UK. Generally speaking, it is illegal for a resident of the UK to buy this item.
