The struggle between a human man and his unnatural creation is front and center of this iconic imaged lobby card featuring Dr. Frankenstein and his monster.

This lobby card has had restoration to previous issues, including pinholes in the borders and two in the image between the stars. There was a tear in the image's top center, also between the stars, corner creases, and a tiny hole in the right border. There was also some slight water staining, as a faint tide line can also be detected on the card. The card has had slight color enhancement.

To say that the 1931 horror classic Frankenstein was monumental is an understatement in the impact it made on the audiences of the day and remains the link that gets us where we are today in the evolution of the essentials of the horror film. Every cliche of cinema horror was created with this film: the mad scientist, the misunderstood monster, the angry villagers carrying torches, the dark laboratory filled with science fictional devices, and the creepy assistant. Adapted from Mary Shelley's allegorical novel, Frankenstein not only made actor Boris Karloff an international star but helped spawn an entire era of cinematic monster mania.
