A slug costume worn by Andy (Ricky Gervais) in the hit comedy TV series Extras.

Andy wore this impressive giant slug costume when he appeared as an evil alien slug in an episode of Dr. Who. This was the 2007 Christmas special of extras and was the final ever episode of the latter series. After tasting success with his own comedy sitcom, Andy’s sudden fame is lost when he cancels his show, resulting in him having to take on extra work once again. He takes the part of alien slug in Dr. Who, much to his chagrin.

This costume is made from 3 parts; the head, body and tail. It is made from heavy foam with a painted latex exterior. The costume is covered with bumps and other details to give it texture and definition. Painted in sludgy shades of green and brown, the head has a cut-out section for the face and drooping antennae. The body is held up with black suspenders and a foam insert to protect the shoulders. The costume is missing the arm pieces as seen in the programme.

The slug costume will make an excellent collector’s piece for any fan of Ricky Gervais or Dr. Who and remains in very good production-used condition.
