Mordred's (Robert Addie) golden helmet from John Boorman's fantasy epic Excalibur. The grown-up Mordred wore his armour in battle against his father King Arthur (Nigel Terry). Markings and imperfections on the face match the helmet to the one seen on screen.

Previously thought to be lost since production, this fibreglass helmet was revealed to be in the possession of the film's Academy Award®-nominated director Sir John Boorman.

It is painted to resemble solid gold and features a chinstrap and a foam-padded interior. The helmet has some wear from production use and age, including small cracks, discolouration and chips to the paintwork. In addition, a liquid has left a green stain down the middle of the face. Dimensions: 26 cm x 24 cm x 26 cm (10 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 10 1/4")

This lot comes directly from Boorman's personal collection and is accompanied by a letter from Boorman confirming its authenticity.
