Peters’ (Kathleen Quinlan) torn death costume from Paul W.S. Anderson’s supernatural sci-fi horror, Event Horizon.

Travelling to the edge of our solar system, Dr William Weir (Sam Neill) and a crack search and rescue team are sent to retrieve the deep space exploration vessel ‘Event Horizon’, which has returned after being lost for seven years. Little do they know it has been on a journey to the pits of Hell itself.

This flight suit belonged to the ‘Lewis and Clark’ medic Peters and would have been created for when she plummeted down a shaft after being lured to the upper levels by a manifestation of her son.

Made from an olive-green cotton blend, the military style jumpsuit is adorned with multiple exposed zips and various pockets. A range of insignia is adhered to the garment including rank patches at the shoulders, a U.S.A.C name patch reading ‘Peters’ on the left breast, a yellow round ‘Lewis & Clark’ search and rescue patch on the right sleeve and a flag patch on the left sleeve. A radiation suit monitor card is inserted in a clear plastic pocket on the upper section of the left sleeve.

Heavily distressed to indicate the moment Peters fell to her death, this version of her costume displays several intentional rips, white paint marks and staining from fake blood used during filming. The front zip fastening is missing a tooth on the left side causing the fastening to not do up to the top. However, the costume remains in good production-used condition.
