Ender Wiggin's (Asa Butterfield) BDU (Basic Duty Uniform) costume and a flash suit with a helmet from Gavin Hood's 2012 young adult sci-fi adventure Ender's Game. Ender wore this style of BDU costume during the final test battle, while flash suits were worn by students during the Battle Room training sequences.
The BDU costume comprises a slate blue jacket made from synthetic fabric with rubber emblems, a pair of matching trousers, a cotton turtleneck T-shirt, and a pair of black leather combat boots (size UK 6). "Ender" is handwritten in black ink on labels inside the jacket and trousers, while "ASA" is handwritten in black ink on a label inside the turtleneck T-shirt.
The flash suit consists of a jacket made of synthetic nylon with yellow rubber pads, a pair of matching trousers and gloves, a pair of boots constructed from a pair of Rhino shoes (size EUR 46), a dark grey balaclava, and a helmet. "Kelvin Harrison" is handwritten in ink inside the jacket, boots and gloves. Harrison played a Salamander soldier in the film.
The flash-suit helmet is made of resin with a clear acrylic visor and was cast from 3D-printed master patterns specifically sized to fit the actor. A hidden switch and battery compartment operate a functional internal fan powered by a 9V battery. "Tiger 2S" is handwritten inside the helmet in white marker pen.
