Buddy's (Will Ferrell) SFX Jack-in-the-Box from Jon Favreau's Christmas movie Elf. Buddy tested frightening Jack-in-the-Box toys in Santa's (Ed Asner) workshop. One of them later appeared on Santa's sleigh.

This Jack-in-the-Box was customized with an internal remote-firing system by the SFX team to control the padded felt Jack's launch time during the workshop and sleigh scenes. The Jack comes inside a colorful tin box affixed with a red-topped crank which operates a music box on the interior. Due to its adjustments, the lid must be lifted for the Jack to launch, and the remote-firing mechanism was removed following production. The box exhibits scratching and scuffing around its edges from use. Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 6.5" (15.25 cm x 15.25 cm x 16.5 cm)
