Behind-the-scenes photos and paperwork with Stuart Ziff's Academy Award speech and letters from Matthew Robbins' Dragonslayer. Trusted with a magical amulet by his former master, wizard's apprentice Galen Bradwarden (Peter MacNicol) was sent to kill the ancient dragon Vermithrax, not realizing that an adventure beyond his wildest imagination awaited him.

This lot comes from the collection of effects pioneer Stuart Ziff. It consists of two file folders labeled "Academy Award" and "Dragonslayer" with illegible writing and dates. These folders contain a manila envelope marked "4-8-82 Original Speech I Didn't Give To The Academy" with a two-page typed speech and three business cards for E. Alan Browse Joint Managing Director; 12 letters and correspondences to Ziff from various individuals and the Academy; one newspaper clipping; 18 pages of an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences official entry form with handwritten and printed notes; five typed copies of Ziff's Academy speech with one labeled "I Planned To Say This When I Received The Award But I Did Not - Just Said Thank You."; four pages of a handwritten rough draft speech; three letters and handwritten notes for Dragonslayer; and a manila envelope marked "Dragon Slayer B & W Pictures of Me with Flying Dragon Mechanism and with Walking Dragon Rig" featuring five 8" x 10" black-and-white photos with handwritten annotations on the back and one signed "To All My Fans. . .Fuck You All Stu-Baby," five 4.25" x 5" black-and-white photos, and four transparencies.
