This is a San Angeles Police force costume worn by Tough Cop (Troy Evans) in the 1993 Sylvester Stallone action film Demolition Man. Troy can be seen wearing the costume in the film as the futuristic police officers discover that the only way to deal with an old fashioned criminal, Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes,) is with an old fashioned cop, John Spartan (Stallone.) The uniform consists of a button-up shirt, featuring numerous patches and insignias, including the patch of the fictional San Angeles Police Department, collar patches, and rank insignias stitched at the left wrist. The item also features a generic size 40, black button-fly uniform pants with a Warner Bros. tag still inside, as well as a stitched in patch with a handwritten label that displays the characters name (T. Farmer), the actors name (Troy Evans) and date (3/18/93). The pants features a gray pin stripe on each side, two pockets with button covers, and pant legs that lace up with black laces at the bottoms. Rounding out the costume is a black leather belt with a unique zipper closure design and is labeled on the inside “Troy E.” This costume is slightly faded on the right shoulder due to production use and storage but remains in good condition.
