A set of make-up test sketch and photos of Andy Garcia and Hanna Schygulla from the production of Kenneth Branagh’s 1991 mystery thriller, Dead Again. Los Angeles private detective, Mike Church (Kenneth Branagh) takes on the case of an amnesiac woman named Grace (Emma Thompson) who is plagued by nightmares in which her husband is involved in the murder of a pianist that took place in the 1940’s. In the film actor Andy Garcia and actress Hanna Schygulla portray young and elderly versions on themselves, thus make-up artists Thomas and Bari Burman drafted up design concepts that could be followed when it came time to make the duo appear aged by 40 years.
This set includes two sketches and three photos. The two sketches, each drawn on a separate page, feature hand-drawn portrayals of both Garcia and Schygulla with careful attention to age lines. The drawing featuring Garcia also includes a signature that reads “ B & T Burman” as well as a note at the top reading "Dead Again." The photos are all printed in black and white on white paper and include one photo of Schygulla and two featuring Garcia, all of which display the actors in full make-up.
This set shows slight wear due to age such as creases at the edges of the pages, but remain in good overall condition.
