Blue Eyes' (Nick Thurston) Spear from Matt Reeves' second installment in the Planet of the Apes trilogy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. As apes evolve to be more advanced, Caesar (Andy Serkis) must find a way to deal with a troublesome group of human survivors. Blue Eyes (Nick Thurston) is seen using his spear in the film's opening as he hunts with the other apes.
This spear is constructed from urethane and is painted to resemble real wood and stone. The handle features intricate designs that the apes use throughout the film. Faux wrappings are present on the the end of the spear for grip and to give the impression of the tip being tied onto the handle. Bones are also present at the wrappings and add to the spear's primitive aesthetic.
This piece shows signs of wear, such as portions of paint that have scrapped off, but remains in overall good condition.
