A static dying Antarean made for Ron Howard’s 1985 sci-fi drama Cocoon. In the film, a group of elderly trespassers swim in a pool containing alien cocoons, and suddenly find themselves feeling younger. This piece is unseen in the final film. Made of resin, this humanoid alien was made for the scene in which the residents of the retirement home comfort a dying Alien that is removed from its rock-like cocoon. The life-size body is made entirely from resin, but includes areas that have been repaired with fabric and painted to match the alien’s skin tone. The Antarean is opaque in color, with red and brown coloring within the cranium. This piece shows some wear due to use and age, with repairs made at most joints and the neck, however the piece remains in overall fair condition. Dimensions: 34" x 16" x16" (85 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm)
