Four Muncie, Indiana projection plates from Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The scene in which UFOs caused a power outage as they passed through Muncie, Indiana was created by staging actors in front of images projected from plates.

This lot consists of four glass plates featuring a darkened image of a night view of Muncie, Indiana taped together around the edges with black and red tape. Each plate has various azimuths and elevations in order to accommodate different possible filming angles. The lot exhibits internal smudges from production.
