A Ray Harryhausen hand-drawn sketch of Perseus and the Stygian witches from the production of Desmond Davis' epic fantasy adventure Clash of the Titans. This lot comes from Harryhausen's personal collection.

The sketch depicts Perseus and a soldier meeting with the Stygian witches. Due to an increased level of production responsibilities, this was one of only two key drawings created by Harryhausen for the film. The sketch is rendered in pencil on tracing paper, and exhibits some minor tears, none which disrupt the image. It has undergone sympathetic restoration to mend a larger tear. Dimensions: 52 cm x 38 cm (20.5" x 15")

This lot comes from the Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation, a collection of items from the long and illustrious career of special effects and animation legend Ray Harryhausen. Proceeds from this auction will assist with the Foundation's future projects, including the ongoing preservation of Harryhausen's creature collection.
