Morgan Grimes’ (Joshua Gomez) SFX Tranquilizer Gun from the NBC spy comedy series, Chuck. This item comes from the thirteenth episode of the fourth season, entitled "Chuck Versus the Push Mix." In this episode, Morgan passes it through a maze with laser security measures, that ultimately slice through his firearm. The gun itself is a modified airsoft Baby WE Hi-Capa 3.8, although on the show it was used as a custom made tranquilizer that shoots 10mg darts filled with a non-lethal Tetradotoxin solution.
This unique SFX gun has been rigged with electronically controlled magnets, allowing the barrel of the gun to break off at the push of a button. These electrical components consist of approximately 15 feet (4.5m) of cording with a plug on one end and the other end attached to handle of the gun with heavy, black electrical taping. The wiring is then fed through the bottom of the gun through the hollowed out cartridge chamber where it connects with the magnet. Also included is a switch panel which is used to turn the electromagnet on and off. All electrical components have been successfully tested to function properly. The gun itself measures approximately 7.5" x 1.5" x 5.5" (19cm x 4cm x 14cm) and is in excellent, production used condition.
The violent crime reduction bill means that this particular prop can only be sold to customers who reside outside the UK. Generally speaking, it is illegal for a resident of the UK to buy this item.
