An Asterius (Shane Rangi) test head made for the production of Andrew Adamson's The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Asterius is a minotaur that is instrumental in saving many lives at the Telmarine Castle as he holds a gate open allowing his comrades to escape. Made early in production, this mask served as a concept and influenced the final appearance of the character. This mask features a latex skin that has been applied to a polyfoam backing. The face has been painted with detail and features hand-punched hair. A netting with hair has been fitted over the polyfoam to complete the look. The horns are cast in hard biscuit foam and show significant battle damage. A set of acrylic eyes and teeth complete the realistic look of this mask.
The piece is presented on a custom stand that shows the lion standard shown throughout the series. This piece shows some signs of wear from storage, such as markings to the paint in the horns and on the stand, but remains in overall good condition.
