A set of model miniature set components used in the production of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic Blade Runner. Tasked with the rounding up of rogue replicants, “Blade Runner” Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is ordered to find four military grade androids that have gone to ground in the dystopian underbelly of downtown Los Angeles.
These fascinating pieces were used for miniature Spinner sequences to develop the look of Los Angeles in-flight. These components formed part of a larger interchangeable set, and were “layered” horizontally from the camera to build up the skyline and make Los Angeles look like Ridley Scott’s vision of the sprawling, overcrowded dystopia.

Made of etched brass, each of the components has sections cut out or removed to make them look like the silhouettes of sci-fi buildings. The holes were specifically taken to allow light through, creating the stunning effects seen in the final film. One side of the components is finished in black, while the other side remains bare and unfinished. A tab at the bottom allowed the components to be secured on-set.

Displaying plenty of wear from use in the film’s stunning effects sequences including paint chipping and traces of adhesive, the components remain in overall good condition, and come in a custom-made display featuring the film’s title artwork, a still from the film and an opening front panel allowing direct access to the pieces.
