A police badge and ID used in the production of the Martin Brest action comedy Beverly Hills Cop. On the hunt for the killers of an old friend, Detroit police detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) travels to Beverly Hills. Joining forces with local officers Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton), they soon find the trail leads to art gallery owner and drug baron Victor Maitland (Steven Berkoff).
This badge was used by Sergeant John Taggart in the film, seen as he flashed his ID when he and Rosewood check him out of his downtown hotel - at the BHPD's expense. The piece features a metal badge with a faux-gold finish and blue enamelling while the card has a photograph of Taggart (named “Sam” on the card) and provides various pieces of biometric information. The set is retained in a leather wallet which can be flipped open to show the badge and card within.

Displaying signs of natural wear from use on the production, the badge and card remain in very good condition with only minor wear to the card from age.
