A paint test of Robin’s (Chris O’Donnell) mask from Joel Schumacher’s 1995 comic-inspired action blockbuster Batman Forever.

Disfigured former DA Harvey Dent, AKA “Two-Face” (Tommy Lee Jones) and disgruntled inventor Edward Nygma, AKA “The Riddler” (Jim Carrey) threaten to bring Gotham to its knees. Can Batman (Val Kilmer) and new ally Robin (Chris O’Donnell) save the city before it’s too late?

Made of rubber, this is an early paint test for Robin’s mask. Painted green and gold with a small ‘R’ in the centre, this mask would have been used early in the production when deciding on what Robin’s costume should be. Eventually it was decided that the mask would be entirely black, which is how it appears in the film. The shape and design of the mask did not change however.

The piece shows very little wear from use and storage and remains in an excellent condition.
