Six spears from Mel Gibson's action adventure Apocalypto. Mayans used spears to kill captives for target practice.

Simon Atherton, an armorer who worked with Gibson on Braveheart, was hired to research and provide reconstructions of Mayan weapons to maintain the accuracy of the film. This lot consists of six wood, resin, and feather spears. The spearheads are painted glossy black to resemble obsidian. They feature red and green paint along the staff and bright blue and yellow feathers. Production intentionally distressed these spears. This lot exhibits notable paint marks, adhesive marks, discoloration, and chipped paint. Dimensions: (each) 63" x 1" x 1" (160 cm x 2.75 cm x 2.75 cm)
