Chris Kyle's (Bradley Cooper) SFX Bullet-Hit Ballistic Helmet from Clint Eastwood's 2014 war drama, American Sniper. Based on the Chris Kyle's biography, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History, the film follows Kyle from his SEAL training through his numerous tours in Iraq. This SFX helmet was worn during the first tour during the scene in which Kyle is pinned down by an enemy sniper while he tries to save a father and son from 'the Butcher," Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's second in command. The helmet can also be screen matched to the one held by Bradley Cooper in a promotional still.
This SFX helmet was rigged with a squib which detonated a small portion of the helmet during the scene in which Kyle is pinned down by a sniper. This helmet has been painted a tan desert color and includes a padded Velcro interior with adjustable nylon straps. The piece shows minor wear due to production use, and shows remnants of a squib within the helmet, however it remains in overall very good worn condition.
