A production-used clapperboard and crew cap from the set of Robert Zemeckis’ 2016 WWII spy thriller, Allied.

Max (Brad Pitt), a Canadian officer, and Marianne (Marion Cotillard), a French resistance fighter, fall in love during an undercover mission, and eventually marry. However, their relationship is put to the test when she is accused of being a German spy and Max must uncover the truth.

This clapperboard was used on the set of the film, specifically on close-up shots because of the comparatively small size of it. Made of acrylic with a wooden clapper, the board is largely black and white, with the title of the film and the names of the director and director of photography printed onto it. Other production information is filled in with pen, including the date that this board was last used – ’14.6.16’.

The crew cap is black and features the logo of the film, also stitched in black. Caps such as this one would have been handed out to members of the crew as a memento of the production. A label inside lists it as being 57cm in size.

The clapperboard shows wear from use on the production, including scuffs and scratches, and features the remnants of marker pen on the board. The cap has been worn and has a small hole in the material on the front right, as well as some plucking to the stitching, but the pair remain in an otherwise good used condition.
