This is an Alien Queen arm with mechanical hand used in James Cameron’s sci-fi sequel Aliens. The arm was for the climax of the film when Ripley destroys the eggs in the Queen’s hive, and then fights her with an exosuit cargo-loader.

The arm is made from black foam, painted blue and black throughout, that is molded in the unique bio-mechanical look that Giger created. It features a metal interior skeletal structure running all the way to the fingers, allowing the arm to bend at the elbow and the fingers to be moved freely via puppeteering controls. The hand/fingers are connected to numerous cables which run all the way through the forearm out of the elbow where the controls (no longer present) were attached.

The foam exterior of the hand, wrist, and fingers is very fragile due to age and storage and has begun to deteriorate, mostly around the jointed areas, leaving the hand in somewhat poor condition while the rest of the arm remains in fair condition. This piece measures approximately 66” (168cm) in length, with a measurement of approximately 10” (25cm) at its’ widest point.
