A model miniature colony vehicle used in the production of James Cameron’s seminal sci-fi action movie Aliens. Cast adrift for almost sixty years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) reluctantly joins a platoon of hardened Colonial Marines in the hopes of saving the residents of a colony infested with grotesque humanoid aliens.
This vehicle was used for the large model miniature set of the LV-426 colony Hadley’s Hope, which can be seen as the dropship does its scan of the colony’s buildings during a search for the missing colonists. Several similar vehicles can be seen in the sequences, though this particular vehicle is not seen in the final cut of the film.

Constructed from resin, wood, plastic and metal, the “kit-bashed” vehicle has an array of dress-up components added to give it the look of a futuristic machine. Details include a long crane-like apparatus, faux-lights, rubberised wheels and a plethora of vents. A "motor" at the centre of the vehicle, made of a real miniature motor with resistors attached, is no longer secured to the model. The vehicle is finished in a dirty yellow and grey paint scheme which has been distressed to give it the look of hard-worn industrial equipment with various futuristic decals applied to further add to the realism of the piece.

Displaying some wear from use with cracks in the body shell and some missing components, the model remains in overall good condition.
