A full-size Power Loader claw from James Cameron's Aliens. The Colonial Marines' spaceship Sulaco came outfitted with several P-5000 Power Loader exosuits. Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) donned one first to help load up a dropship for an expedition to the terraforming colony on LV-426, again in her fight against the queen xenomorph that stowed away on the drop ship's landing gear, and ultimately to save herself from from being jettisoned into space in the climactic ending to that fight.

Designed by John Richardson with input from production designer Syd Mead and Cameron, the full-size exosuit was cumbersome and used hidden counterweights and suspension wires to remain stabilized. Stunt performer John Lees operated the suit in tandem directly behind Sigourney Weaver, which allowed Weaver to be in the operator's seat and appear as if she was maneuvering the equipment. The design process for the power loader eventually inspired the "Amplified Mobility Platform" used by the marines in Cameron's film Avatar.

This full-size work loader claw is composed of polyurethane foam painted caution-yellow with black stripes on the exterior, the interior is painted silver-color to resemble metal with cushioned grips. The track the clamps are attached to are made of aluminum. The claw also has an interior aluminum pipe at the base to attach to the arm. This lot exhibits chipped and flaked paint, as well as cracked and exposed foam. Dimensions: 30.5" x 37" x 10.5" (77.5 cm x 94 cm x 26.75 cm)
