An M41A Pulse Rifle from James Cameron's sci-fi action sequel Aliens. Pulse Rifles were wielded by the Colonial Marines while they searched Hadley's Hope for survivors. Lightweight Pulse Rifles were used frequently during production, as they were easier for actors to handle and more suitable for action sequences. Made of resin, expanding foam and wood, this lightweight prop rifle was designed by director James Cameron and realised by Simon Atherton, the head of movie armourers Bapty & Co. The rifle is based on a World War II-era M1A1 Thompson submachine gun, with a SPAS-12 shotgun cage below the barrel to simulate a grenade launcher. The piece is painted green-brown and black, and has some paint wear from production and age. Dimensions: 69.75 cm x 7.5 cm x 26.75 cm (27.5" x 3" x 10.5")
