A large scale miniature egg from the set of the James Cameron sci-fi sequel Aliens. Cast adrift for almost sixty years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) reluctantly joins a platoon of hardened Colonial Marines in the hopes of saving the residents of a colony infested with grotesque humanoid aliens.
To accommodate some of the spectacular effects on the classic movie, the team created a 1/3 scale version of the eggs and Alien Queen in her chamber, including in the memorable scene when Ripley incinerates the nest with a powerful flame thrower, this little piece formed part of that set. Crafted from fibreglass into the unforgettable textured shape, the interesting piece is an eerie almost translucent shade of brown, and sits upon a removeable tangle of the bio-mechanical tubes synonymous to Giger's Alien design, which is tinted much darker but still emits a faint glow if lit from behind. Interestingly what sets these smaller pods apart from their full-size counterparts is that these rise to a peak and the life size versions have a much flatter top.

This particular egg shows some small signs of the deadly flame thrower attack with some sections slightly blackened. The base piece features a slight crack and the entire piece is a fairly fragile item and should be handled with care. The miniature egg remains in very good condition and would be a superb addition to any Alien fan's collection.
